Himalayan Festival of Kullu Dussehra
On the day when Hindus all over India celebrate the festival of Dussehra by burning huge effigies of Ravana symbolising the victory of good over evil — hundreds of deities from across the Himalayan valley of Kullu gather together and take blessings from Lord Raghunath in Kullu district of the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh.
The deities—believed to have special powers, guide the people carrying it—they dance in joy as they meet their deity siblings.
